Eddie Eccker

I'm a marriage and family therapist and writer in Colorado, and co-owner of Voyages Counseling, the multi-location practice I built from a friendship in 2011.

I've spent my life in the work of human formation, and I've done it from almost every seat. I've been a psychiatric social worker on an acute inpatient unit, a professor of psychology, a youth leader, and a clinical supervisor to other therapists. For nearly two decades, I've sat with individuals, couples, and families in the ordinary work of change. The question underneath all of it never changes. How did you become this version of yourself, and what would it take to become something else?

That question runs through my writing too. My book, You Are Not Finished, argues that you were not born the person you are now. You were formed, over years, by what happened to you and how you answered it, and what was formed can be reformed. The same conviction drives The Voyage Cast, the podcast I host on emotional health, marriage, faith, and the things that make us who we are. I write for people who want something they can use, not something to think about and set down.

Currently, I live in Colorado, where I'm a husband, father, and an incurable builder of things.
